Kevin J. McNamara, 71, is President and Chief Executive Officer of Chemed Corporation. He is also Chairman of the company's VITAS Healthcare Corporation subsidiary. Mr. McNamara began his career at Chemed in 1980 as a corporate attorney. In 1981, he moved to Omnicare, Inc., Chemed’s then 24%-owned affiliate, as Secretary. In 1986, Mr. McNamara returned to Chemed and was named Vice President, General Counsel, and Secretary. From 1990 through 1992, he also served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Omnicare. In 1992, Mr. McNamara was elected Vice Chairman of Chemed, while still serving as its General Counsel and Secretary. In 1993, he was named Executive Vice President, Secretary, and General Counsel of Chemed. The Board of Directors elected Mr. McNamara to his present position of President in 1994 and to the additional post of Chief Executive Officer in 2001. In February 2004, he also became Chairman of the company's VITAS subsidiary. Mr. McNamara holds an A.B. degree in economics from Denison University and a J.D. from Cornell Law School.
Spencer S. Lee, 69, is an Executive Vice President of Chemed Corporation and Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of its Roto-Rooter Management Company subsidiary. Mr. Lee began his career at Chemed in 1980 as an Assistant to the President. In 1981, he transferred to Chemed's Roto-Rooter subsidiary as Director of Development. In 1983, Mr. Lee moved into the field and became Assistant General Manager of Roto-Rooter's Boston division. He was promoted in 1984 to Vice President of Roto-Rooter's Mid-Atlantic Region, based in Baltimore. In 1989, he took on additional responsibility for the Northeast Region. In 1992, Mr. Lee moved back to Roto-Rooter headquarters, continuing as Vice President for the Northeast. In 1996, Mr. Lee was promoted to Senior Vice President of Operations for Roto-Rooter Services Company, and in 1999, he was named to his current position of Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Roto-Rooter Management Company. The Board of Directors elected him to the additional post of Executive Vice President of Chemed in 2000. Mr. Lee holds a B.A. degree from Claremont McKenna College and an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago.
Brian C. Judkins, 44, is Vice President, Secretary and Chief Legal Officer. Mr. Judkins was promoted to Secretary and Chief Legal Officer in August 2020. He joined Chemed in January of 2019 as VP and Counsel. Prior to his role at Chemed, Mr. Judkins was a partner at Dinsmore & Shohl, LLP, with a broad corporate and M&A practice. Mr. Judkins holds a B.A. degree from the University of Michigan and a J.D. degree from the Georgetown University Law Center.
Michael D. Witzeman, 54, is Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, and Controller at Chemed Corporation. Mr. Witzeman was promoted to Chief Financial Officer in January of 2024. Mr. Witzeman was promoted to Controller in May of 2017. He joined Chemed in 2005 as an Assistant Controller in charge of SEC Reporting and adoption of new accounting guidance and was promoted to Vice President in 2012. Prior to joining Chemed, Mr. Witzeman was a Senior Manager of Assurance Services at Deloitte & Touche LLP. He holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Cincinnati, an M.B.A. from The Ohio State University, and is a licensed C.P.A
Lisa A. Reinhard, 53, is Vice President, Chief Administrative Officer and Assistant Secretary of Chemed Corporation. Mrs. Reinhard was promoted to Chief Administrative Officer in May of 2006 and to Vice President in May of 2011. She joined Chemed in 1995 as Director of Environmental Regulation. Mrs. Reinhard holds a B.A. degree from Northern Kentucky University
Greg Zarick, 64, is Vice President at Chemed Corporation, a position he has held since November of 2018. Mr. Zarick has experience in general management, marketing, strategy, M&A, financial analysis and operations. He has held management roles in multiple operating companies within current and former Chemed divisions as well as in public and private companies outside of Chemed. Mr. Zarick holds an undergraduate degree in Mathematics and Chemistry and an MBA from Indiana University.
Holley R. Schmidt, 54, was promoted to Vice President of Chemed Corporation in May of 2021. Mrs. Schmidt has held the position of Assistant Controller since 2012. She joined Chemed in 2004 as a Senior Accounting Manager. Prior to her role at Chemed, Mrs. Schmidt was an Accounting Manager for Chemed’s Roto-Rooter subsidiary. Mrs. Schmidt had worked at Roto-Rooter since 1998. Mrs. Schmidt holds a B.S. from Xavier University, a CPA License in the state of Ohio, and an M.B.A from Northern Kentucky University.
Nathan J. McNamara, 38, joined Chemed in November 2018 and was promoted to Vice President in 2021. Prior to Chemed, Mr. McNamara served as a Director in Strategy and Innovation at VITAS Healthcare, a Chemed wholly-owned subsidiary, which he joined in 2016.Before joining VITAS, Mr. McNamara worked for Booz Allen Hamilton and Oliver Wyman as a management consultant. Mr. McNamara received a B.A. from Dartmouth College and an M.B.A. from the Duke University Fuqua School of Business.
Joel L. Wherley is President and Chief Executive Officer of Chemed’s VITAS subsidiary, one of the nation’s leading providers of hospice and palliative care. He is responsible for the strategic leadership, operational performance, and administrative governance of VITAS and its employees across the United States. Mr. Wherley joined VITAS in 2016 as Senior Vice President of Hospice Operations. He was promoted to Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer in 2017, named President in 2024, and appointed Chief Executive Officer in 2025. Mr. Wherley began his career in clinical care as a respiratory therapist and has since built a decades long track record of strategic leadership across the healthcare continuum. Prior to joining VITAS, he held senior executive roles at American Home Patient, Gentiva, and Hospice Advantage, where he led large scale operational teams and delivered consistent organizational performance across diverse care settings. Mr. Wherley currently serves on the Board of Directors for the South Florida Hospital & Healthcare Association. In 2022, he was appointed an inaugural Advisory Board member for the Home Care 100 Conference (HC100), a national platform focused on advancing home based care as a cornerstone of the future healthcare system. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business management and organizational design from the University of Illinois at Springfield.
